CASPER AREA NORTH PLATTE RIVER

TRIP RECOMMENDATIONS
Bessemer Bend to Robertson Road – A great morning or afternoon float that takes you through beautiful Wyoming scenery and historic sites. This is a very popular route with easy access at both ends of the journey.
Robertson Road to Mills Bridge – This shorter trip is great for kayaks and paddle boards. The views of Casper Mountain between Paradise Valley and Morad Park are unrivaled, especially on a calm summer evening. Mills Bridge access is not recommended for rafts because of size.
Morad Park to Riverfront – If you want to experience the thrill of the Casper Whitewater Park this route will give you all the action. Access and parking at Morad Park is easy to navigate. If you want a longer trip starting at Robertson Road is a great option.

AREA RESERVOIRS

ALCOVA RESERVOIR
Located 45 minutes from Casper, Alcova Reservior is a well developed recreation area. Visit one of the sandy beaches on a hot afternoon, reserve a camp site for the weekend or stop by the Marina and store. Our favorite area is taking a trip down the breathtaking Fremont Canyon and enjoying views and maybe a little rock jumping into the cool, refreshing water.
Alcova is popular with power boats, but rent a kayak or paddle board and take a trip down the canyon or explore the varied shorelines.

PATHFINDER RESERVIOR
Traveling just past Alcova and about an hour and half from Casper you can experience Pathfinder Reservior. This reservoir is larger than Alcova, but not as busy or developed. Popular with fishermen, this area is great for a quiet weekend of camping — right on the shoreline. Launch your rented paddle boards or kayaks and enjoy and fun filled day with the family splashing in the water. There is a seasonal marina and general store located in the area.

GLENDO STATE PARK
Glendo State Park, home to the Glendo Reservoir is located 80 miles south of Casper on Interstate 25. The state park offers numerous camping and picnic areas as well as hiking and mountain biking trails and lots of water. Glendo Reservoir is a popular fishing and boating destination and the area has most of the amenities you will need to to enjoy a day or a whole week.
Rent one of our inflateble kayaks and enjoy the varied coastlines that range from large rocks to sand to natural vegitation.
